The Value Of Thinking Like An Entrepreneur In A Corporate Setting

Northwestern Mutual

Large organizations know that to grow in today’s economy they need to encourage employees to approach the work they do with an entrepreneurial mindset. Employees who work for large organizations and figure out how to approach their jobs this way are more likely to thrive in an environment that encourages such behavior.

Entrepreneurship in large workplaces has been a hot topic lately. Leaders from a number of long-established industries recently gathered in Chicago for the Forbes Reinventing America Summit to discuss ways they are reinventing their businesses to position themselves for the next generation. A core discussion among the leaders at the summit centered on how to unlock that entrepreneurial mindset within themselves and their businesses to drive growth.

Northwestern Mutual Senior Vice President Beth Rodenhuis and Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Karl Gouverneur were both in attendance. While at the summit, Karl and Beth sat down with Forbes Chief Operating Officer Mike Federle to talk about, among other things, how they are trying to bring an entrepreneurial mindset to their roles and the organization. See what they had to say in this video:
